Do you accept insurance?

At this time, I accept Medicaid for ages under 21. If you have other insurance, I can provide you with a superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement, as I am considered an out-of-network provider. You may can use your HSA towards sessions.

Do you offer in-person or virtual therapy?

I offer in person sessions as well as virtual sessions to residents in Alabama.

WHat times do you offer therapy?

I offer therapy sessions outside of normal business hours (5pm and later) as well as on the weekends.

How often do we meet?

How often we meet initially depends on your needs and goals. Typically, I start with biweekly sessions to establish our therapeutic relationship and create a treatment plan together. As you gain direction, tools, and clarity, our goal is to gradually reduce sessions. However, every client is unique, and I am flexible in adjusting our meeting frequency to best support your progress.

WHAT IS AN alC OR ASSOCIATE LICENSED COUNSELOR?

An Associate Licensed Counselor (ALC) in Alabama is a counselor who has finished their master’s degree and is gaining supervised experience to become fully licensed. As an ALC, I receive supervision from Daphne Simpson, LPC-S.

Is counseling actually confidential?

Short answer — YES!

Counseling is confidential with only a few exceptions:

  • If a court subpoenas records

  • If you are deemed an immediate threat to yourself or others

  • If there is knowledge or suspicion of child abuse, elder abuse, or abuse of a person with disabilities (mandated reporting)
